LIEBSTER AWARD

Oh HEY THERE.  Doing a sexy wink AND a pout.  I'm good to you (I'm so sorry.).

I was planning on doing some "proper" posts this week, but until I find my camera charger they'll have to wait!

Technically as I'm over 200 followers now I'm not eligible for the Liebster Award anymore, but I was nominated before I (somehow) gained 200 followers - I just never got around to doing it as I'd wanted to do it in the form of a video, but then I had problems with my editing software...I'm just a walking disaster really!

I'm just going to do the 11 Facts about me part as I don't want to make this a super long post, then at the end I'll link to the blogs that I've nominated (also, thanks to Helen at Fragile Bird, Amber Love, Sophie at Burning into the Night, Michelle at s-ublime, Katherine at The Beauty Visual, and Hannah at Beaus of Beauty for nominating me.).

1 It took me four tests to pass my driving test, mostly because the first instructor I had didn't teach me how to drive – he operated the pedals during my lessons.  I feel a bit stupid that I never realised what was going on!  I never actually got my money back for those lessons, either, so cheers for that, BSM!
I have a deep and unfaltering love for Pete Doherty. I've seen him live twice and once I even read that book his mum wrote about him, which is probably something I shouldn't be admitting on the internet.
The first cd I ever bought was Aaron Carter.  We had old style desks at school and I had an Aaron montage inside mine - my mum didn't let me have magazines, so I had to buy the posters off my school friends, who were clearly a little more savvy than me!
4 I smoked for seven years, before quitting just over four years ago.  I still have the odd one when I'm drunk and I also go up to people and sniff them while they're smoking, which can be quite awkward.
5 Again, with the driving. I wrote my car off on my first day of proper driving.  It was a week after I passed my test and I was happily pootling down the dual carriageway at 3 o clock in the morning and somehow I manage to bounce off the safety barriers on both sides about three times, which personally I think is very impressive. My car ended up embedded in the central reservation safety barrier, directly under a reduce speed now sign.
6 I really like lemons. I like lemon Skittles, lemon Starburst, lemon iced tea, lemon cake and especially lemon martinis.  And lemons.  You know the lemons you get in your drinks in bars?  I eat those.  And when someone orders a meal that comes garnished with a lemon?  I eat that too.
7 Speaking of lemons, I apparently bore an uncanny resemblance to Kate Nash when I was nineteen.  It started when her first single came out - I worked at a little indie nightclub in town and everyone who came up to the bar was like "I don't know if anyone's ever mentioned this, but...".  Then I went to a gig at Camden Roundhouse and some girls started badgering me for a photo, and got really cross when I insisted that I wasn't her!
8 I have a literary character named after me.  Don't get excited.  The character is a porn star.  The author was a guy I used to work with - a guy, I hasten to add, that I had a strictly platonic friendship with, so whatever is written is very fictional!
I don't like cats. They creep me out.  Especially the hairless ones, what's up with that?  I'm much more of a dog person (make of that what you will).
10 I only have one tattoo (generic heart on my wrist as a result of a drunken pact), but I want more.  I still have a hole in my lip from my old lip piercing and when I was eighteen I pierced my own ear (it hurt.).
11 Ryan Gosling.*

I nominate:
Sharmili at Call Me Maeby
Jen and Isa at La Saloperie
Becky at Cosmetic Debris
Hannah at Cagney and Lace
Frankie at To Be Frank

1 What's your favourite song?
2 Who are your style icons?
What's your favourite film?
4 Which four famous people, dead or alive, would you invite to a dinner party and why?
5 What's your idea of perfect happiness?
6 For which personal flaw do you have the most tolerance?
7 Where would you live if you could live in any time and any place?
Where do you want to be in ten years time?
9 What would you do with one million pounds?
10 What could you not live without?
11 Cheese is a type of meat, yes or no?

*I was going to pop in a nice little Gosling treat for everyone, but then I went a bit overboard on the Gosloogling and my ovaries got dreadfully emotional so I had to stop.

  1. I'm going to 100% do this , I fancy answering your questions. Thank you for nominating me! My friend used to eat slices of lemons but only the 'juicy' part and she would leave the stringy bits that resemble a cobweb intact. It was fascinating to watch haha xo

  3. I took 4 attempts to pass my driving test too, don't tell anyone though... oh shit, I think I've just told a lot of people. I don't have any excuse for my attempts though. And also I saw Pete Dohery standing outside my student union before, I walked right past him, I could have touched him, but it's seen as inappropriate to touch people you dont know... I just thought you might like to know that

  4. I had similar problems with BSM - I stuck with them for 8 months getting no where until I realised that the instructor wasn't actually instructing me on anything!

He used to use my lesson as an excuse to drive halfway to his home (my lesson was his last of the day) pretending that by driving me around he was teaching me valuable driving skills! Urgh - it was only when I finally got a new instructor that I realised what a driving lesson should involve...actually driving!! x

  13. Haha my friend had to take the driving test four times as well, but she's a really good driver now. On the other hand, I passed on my first go and I'm still afraid to drive places.

I love lemon flavoured things too, I don't go as far as eating lemons straight though...
